Safety & Environmental Management

Responsible for providing, a safe, healthy, and environmentally sound work environment for DoD employees, visitors, and the general public in WHS managed facilities in the NCR. Provides policy, support, oversight, assessment, and documentation services in the following program areas:  

 

Environmental Management: Compliance, Pollution Prevention, Conservation, and Cleanup

  Air Force Memorial
  - Environmental Assessment
  - FONSI and Response to Comments
  Occupational Safety and Health
  - WHS Progress Report to Defense Safety Oversight Council (DSOC) 16 May 06  
  Industrial Hygiene 
  Fire Prevention
  Workplace Inspections and Surveys
  Accident Prevention and Investigation
  Asbestos and Lead Based Paint Surveys
  Food Sanitation and Public Health Inspections
  Indoor Air Quality Surveys
  Hazardous Materials Management
  Emergency Planning, Prevention, Preparedness, and Response
  Hearing Conservation, Respiratory Protection, and Personal Protective Equipment
  Accessibility and Egress Determinations
  Training required by OSHA and EPA
Review and Approval of:
  - Alteration and Renovation Projects
  - Corridor Requests
  - Permits for Asbestos, Cable-Pulling, Burns, Excavation, and Confined Space Entry
  Pentagon Environmental Management Committee (PEMC)
  DoD NCR Civilian Employees Occupational Health & Medical Services Committee (CEOHMSC)
  Civilian Employees Health Service (CEHS) and Clinics
