J7/Joint Concepts to Capabilities Division (JCCD) JCCD provides oversight of Joint Concept Development and Experimentation (JCD&E) policy, strategy, and resources across the DOD enterprise and coordinates the US JCD&E program. The purpose of the JCD&E program is to develop conceptual solutions to a Combatant Commander or Service Chiefs expected challenges and then evaluate potential solutions to those challenges through joint experimentation.
Joint Concepts provide a roadmap for future Joint Force Development and capability improvements. Results and recommendations from Joint Experimentation
will be the foundation for developing capabilities through materiel and non-materiel solutions in the form of Initial Capability Documents (ICDs),
DOTMLPF and Policy Change Recommendations (DCRs), pre-doctrinal documentation, training packages, and other recommendations. Validated solutions
ultimately lead to the development and fielding of joint warfighter capabilities. The Force Preparation Working Group (FPWG) supports the transition of
potential capability outcomes identified in the JCD&E process into the Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS). The FPWG
support the JROC, Force Support Functional Capability Board (FCB) and other FCBs with assessments of potential programmatic solutions as well as
program alternatives in the areas of training, exercising, educating, doctrine, lessons learned, concepts, and experimentation. |
