Welcome to the Open Source Resources Page for the High Performance Computing Interest Area

This section of the DTIC Web site is designed to provide information on one of the many communities of interest served by DTIC.

The High Performance Computing Modernization Program (HPCMP) was initiated in 1992 in response to congressional direction to modernize the Department of Defense (DoD) laboratories' high performance computing capabilities. The HPCMP provides supercomputer services and computational science expertise. Today's weapons programs benefit from innovative materials, advanced design concepts, improved and faster modification programs, higher fidelity simulations, and more efficient tests. Future weapons systems, such as radio frequency weapons, the airborne laser, and the Army's future combat system, are benefiting through basic and applied research in plasma physics, turbulence modeling, molecular engineering, high-energy materials, and advanced signal processing.

Samples of current DTIC documents dealing with High Performance Computing issues are listed below. Other resources both within DoD and external to the Department can be found in the menu to the right.

This section provides information about this topic based on questions and issues raised by DTIC customers, but it does not cover all of the information available in DTIC. To view all the information available through DTIC, you must first register.
