DTIC's customers include scientists, engineers and professionals in the federal technology research, development, information science and acquisition communities. Conference participants represent the Department of Defense, other federal agencies, their contractors and potential contractors.

Is it important to stay at the conference hotel?
Every once in a while, a question will come from an attendee as to why they should book into the conference hotel. They often search other local hotels for a lower rate. In trying to save the few extra dollars, they are running the risk of increasing the total cost of their travel and the overall cost of the conference. This is because attendees who stay off site incur additional costs for rental cars, etc., while staying elsewhere results in empty rooms in the conference block. This places the host organization in jeopardy of additional costs for hotel services, thereby increasing future registration fees. The hotel is offering a special room rate of $226.00 per night, single, for conference participants. The net rates quoted are subject to a 10% sales tax. (The room rate plus tax is within the per diem rate). This room rate will also be available to conference attendees on the weekend prior to the conference. Be sure to mention that you will be attending the DTIC 2010 Annual Conference when making your reservations in order to get this special rate.
