DTIC wants to promote the exchange of ideas with academic programs for information science and librarianship. DTIC can offer realistic use cases, lessons learned, publishing and retrieval statistics for scholarly analyses, training and employment opportunities for students and potentially contracted work for faculty. In exchange, academic programs can introduce fresh ideas and applications of known techniques into DTIC's processes. DTIC can be the central node for inserting innovations into the DoD STINFO program from academia. All techniques are aimed at promoting long term visibility of DTIC among information professional and institutions.
