Dept of Emergency Management - A state agency that works closely with
local government emergency managers, other state agencies, voluntary organizations
and federal agencies such as the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)
to ensure a comprehensive, efficient and effective response to emergencies
and disasters throughout Virginia.
Maryland
Emergency Management Agency - It's mission is to reduce the loss of
life and property and to protect our institutions from all hazards by leading
and supporting the State of Maryland in a comprehensive risk-based emergency
management program of mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery.
Washington
DC Emergency Management Agency - EMA coordinates the city's response
to disasters, emergencies, severe weather conditions, and other catastrophic
events. It works closely with other emergency response agencies, including
the Metropolitan Police Department and the District of Columbia Department
of Fire and Emergency Medical Services, and other District and federal
agencies, as well as with the major utility companies and organizations
such as the Red Cross and the Salvation Army.

radiological, biological, and etiological discharges into the environment
