Joint Doctrine Branch:
Promote joint doctrine awareness and manage the development of joint doctrine to improve joint, interagency, and multinational Interoperability and to enhance CINC warfighting capabilities.

Joint Education Branch:
Responsible for policy, programs, quality management and analysis of military education matters prescribed as CJCS responsibilities or implemented by CJCS Directive, with particular emphasis on Joint Professional Military Educating (JPME).

Joint Exercise and Training Division:
The Joint Exercise and Training Division (JETD) as OPR for the Chairman’s Title 10, Section 153 joint training responsibilities is responsible for preparing and publishing the Chairman’s Joint Training Policy, Joint Training Plan, Universal Joint Task List, Joint Training Manual, Joint Lessons Learned Program Policy, the Joint Training System Primer, and the Joint Master Training Guide-series of publications; and integrating DOD Training Transformation Strategic guidance into the Joint Training System Policy, and overseeing the full implementation of the Joint Training System in the Combatant Commands and the Combat Support Agencies. As the OPR for Joint Exercises, JETD supports the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff by developing exercise planning and procedural guidance. It designs, plans, conducts, and analyzes CJCS-sponsored exercises and plans, programs, budgets, and manages the CJCS exercise program in support of the Chairman’s overall training policies. The division is the proponent for the Significant Military Exercise Briefs, publication of the Joint Exercise Schedule, and the Commanders in Chief Initiative Fund. It provides Joint Staff oversight for the Developing Countries Combined Exercise Program. The JETD consists of two branches. The Joint Training Policy and Programs Branch has two sections: Policy and Programs. The Exercise and Lessons Learned Branch has two sections: Exercises and Lessons Learned.
