Abstract : Lasers have become increasingly useful in military operations, particularly as aids for training, acquisition of targets, and fire control. This document addresses environmental impacts attending Department of Army research and development programs of military utility. It is intended to provide relevant background information for Army environmental documentation requirements as detailed in Army Regulation (AR) 200-2 and supplements to this AR by the major Army commands.
