Abstract : Naval forces require cost-effective modular systems that can provide real-time feedback of battlefield conditions of the littoral region at all required times of the day or night and without added risk to lives or expensive assets. The ALRT program is developing technologies to enhance current capabilities and provide solutions to current tactical reconnaissance problems. The distinguishing feature of these tests would be the ability to obtain data over a set of more realistic amphibious landing zone environments (surf zone and beaches) to ascertain system performance and to aid in further minefield detection algorithm development when working in optical backgrounds of this type.
