Abstract : This paper will present a validation of the turbulence modeling approaches used in the Helios code. Helios is a dual-mesh overset unstructured/Cartesian RANS solver developed by the US Army for high-fidelity simulation of rotorcraft aeromechanics. The paper will present validations of standard 3D flowfields using the current near-body unstructured code NSU3D as well as the new strand mesh solver that is intended to be adopted over the next few years.
