Abstract : This report reviews the advantages and limitations of in situ estuarine and marine toxicity testing strategies. Case studies that detail cage designs, testing strategies, and appropriateness of various species from different taxonomic groups are followed by recommendations on a strategy to assess the biological impact of potentially contaminated waste sites in the coastal environment.
