Abstract : This program objective is to Provide high purity optical materials for High Energy Lasers and Transparencies. Recent announcements by Japanese workers of poly crystalline ceramic high-energy laser media have expanded the horizons of possibility of solid state high energy lasers (HELs). The ceramic approach breaks bounds of size and cost previously imposed by the necessity of using only single crystals for lasing media.
