Abstract : Helmholtz coils are used to develop uniform magnetic fields for a variety of research applications. Helmholtz coils can be easily constructed, and the fields easily calculated. This makes them especially useful in calibrating sensors and numerous other low frequency magnetic field testing applications. This particular report will discuss the calculation and measurement of Helmholtz coil fields to be used for testing of composite materials to low frequency magnetic fields.
