Abstract : This report discusses the role of Officers-In-Charge (OICs) at Australia's Antarctic Stations. Using selected approaches from within the field of organizational behaviour, an analysis of the organizational system within which OIC's have to operate is provided. Arguments are put forward on whether there is a best approach to leadership at an Antarctic Station and what leadership style may have the most to offer.
