Abstract : The method of Physical Optics, the Geometrical Theory of Diffraction and the Uniform Geometrical Theory of Diffraction are applied here to electromagnetic scattering from flat plates and rectangular cylinders. The results are compared with experimental measurements to establish the domains of validity of the theoretical techniques.
