This program is called the Installation Restoration Program (IRP). The IRP has four phases consisting of Phase 1, Initial Assessment/Records Search; Phase 2, Confirmation and Quantification; Phase 3, Technology Base Development; and Phase 4, Operations/Remedial Actions. Engineering-Science (ES) was retained by the United States Air Force to conduct the Phase 1, Initial Assessment/Records Search for Castle AFB with funds provided by the Strategic Air Command (SAC).
