Abstract : As the state of the art advances, the helicopter becomes more complex with accompanying difficulties in the development cycle. Also, the customer organizations become larger, more efficient, demand more reliability and accuracy, and in general, refine their capability in all areas. The manufacturers and government in turn are forced to provide more comprehensive and accurate information about the product, thus requiring an ever increasing flight test effort. This handbook discusses flight testing as it relates to helicopter performance determinations.
