Fuels

ASIC Working Definition:

The Fuels group develops agreements governing the quality of aviation fuels, lubricants, associated products, gases and related equipment from origin to point of issue.

Description:

At the 2006 ASIC meeting, the National Directors decided to retain the expertise and product that had been contributed by the former ASCC WP 15 as a stand-alone Fuels Group, to continue to address issues of standardization of fuels, associated products and equipment.

Desired Interoperability:

Standardization of specifications for aircraft fuels, lubricants, associated products, gases and related equipment is vital to effective interoperability in military air operations. Largely due to the efforts of the ASIC Fuels Group, this standardization has kept pace with the technological advancement of fuels, lubricants and associated products to meet the needs of increasingly sophisticated aircraft systems. Through the exchange of information on operational experiences, technical developments and changes in national policies, regulations, product specifications and standards, the Fuels Group will maintain and improve its existing documents as well as expand into new areas that have potential to enhance interoperability.
